11 August 2024, Taichung, Taiwan – FactorBikes has officially announced today the release of their new track bikes, theHANZŌ Track pursuit bike and the RAIDEN Track mass start bike.
In development for two years, the HANZŌ Track was tailor made for the Australian national track team. Optimized according to the latest UCI design regulations, the Factor pursuit bike offers ultra-efficient aerodynamics and maintains supreme rigidity for power transfer. Focusing on the interaction of the air flow between the bike and athlete, the HANZŌ Track employs a wide fork leg to better manage the airflow around the rider's moving legs, and to produce cleaner airflow in the channel between the frame and the rider. The wide seatstays capture air off the legs and maintain the flow conditions in open channel.
Taking advantage of the knowledge gained during the development phase of the HANZŌ Track and the OSTRO VAM road racing bike, the Factor RAIDEN Track bike balances the requirements to make the fastest straight-line bike with the need to remain more maneuverable when racing in a group. The RAIDEN Track is a mass start track bike with a geometry tailored to a wide cross-section of track riders.
Complementing Factor’s move into track racing, Black Inc has also concurrently released two sets of track wheels. Optimized in collaboration with Aus Cycling, the Black Inc ZERO Track disc wheels prioritize stiffness, with aerodynamic performance designed for track conditions.
Developed to provide the fastest possible performance on the track, the Black Inc Zero Track tubular disc wheels have undergone extensive wind tunnel testing with the Australian Cycling Team. Optimized for 23 mm tires, the Zero Track wheelset offers a level of rigidity that ensures medal-winning power transfer.
Optimized in collaboration with AusCycling, the Black Inc ZERO Track disc wheels prioritize stiffness, with aerodynamic performance designed for track conditions. To enhance rigidity, the wheels feature buttressed internal flanges, creating shear walls between the opposite wheel faces. This new technology which we’ve pioneered allows for the optimization and reduction of several stiffness plies in the overall layup of both front and rear wheels.
Extreme attention to detail in the alignment, cutting, and layout of the top layer of Spread Tow fibers (TexTreme)enabled us to eschew any cosmetic outer layer. Instead we’ve used a high polished surface finish, which extensive wind tunnel testing with the AusCycling project proved to be the most aerodynamic. Designed to pair perfectly with modern pursuit track bikes, the front ZERO Track comes assembled with more narrow 40 mm end caps specific for the fork, while a 100 mm conversion axle and end cap kit will be supplied.
