Ice Technologies

The fading which can occur to disc brakerotor and pad when braking on a long downhill ride for instance, has a negativeimpact on the braking performance. Shimano has adopted Ice-Tech disc brakerotor and brake pad to realize the cooling technology for consistentperformance. The disc brake rotor blade which has a 3 layer-sandwich structureof stainless steel, aluminum and stainless steel, provides better radiationperformance achieving a lower surface temperature. Aluminium cooling fins havebeen adopted the brake pad improving the radiation performance even further. Incombination the disc brake rotor blade and the radiator fin provide long padlife, less noise, less fade and lightweight.
