A new Gravel era begins with this wheelset. The eye-catching look, which has been known in the MTB and racing bike sectors for some time, is finally coming onto the market for long-distance and gravel road riders.
But of course the biturbos from Würzburg not only have an unmistakable design, the inner values are also fully convincing. Similar to the Aero wheelset for racing bikes, the hub star and the spokes have a flow-optimized profile. This guarantees exceptional aerodynamics and you can save valuable power. In addition, the sensitivity to crosswinds has been reduced. Nevertheless, the specific requirements of gravel bikers have of course not been neglected. The layup of the carbon layers was chosen in such a way that the high stiffness is in perfect harmony with the comfort. Excellent self-damping lets the rider sit relaxed in the saddle even after hours. Thanks to the enormous inner rim width of 26 mm, tires with a width of up to 58 mm can also be fitted, which additionally filters out impacts from the ground and significantly increases grip. In addition, the hookless rim flange also tolerates one or the other puncture. In terms of quality, the wheelset is definitely in the top league. All materials have been carefully selected, put through their paces and meticulously processed. The built-in DT SWISS 180 hubs are in no way inferior and, with their hybrid ceramic ball bearings, ensure smooth running and durability.
The light weight of only approx. 1,350g for the complete set speaks for itself, but does not show the particularly favorable mass distribution of these wheels. Due to the non-existent tensile load as with conventional spokes, Bike Ahead was able to design the construction in such a way that the rim is very light and the rotating masses are in the center of the wheel. This results in excellent acceleration values.
