Xentis SQUAD 4.5 SL Clincher Disc Brake Wheelset

Aero series SL from XeNTiS combines aerodynamic optimisation and comfort and promises the highest performance.

In the early days, XeNTiS developed wheels with turbulators to specifically create a swirling flow during riding. During development, these turbulators were also used in the monocoque construction and were cleverly embedded as design elements in the shaping of the rim in the Mark 3 series. Together with various research institutions, numerous aerodynamic investigations such as CFD analyses and wind tunnel tests were carried out.

These design elements have now been adapted for the new Squad 4.5 SL and are not only eye-catching when the wheel is spinning – but are also intended to ensure that the threat of a stall is prevented in a controlled manner and that pressure resistance is reduced in a targeted manner.

The development of the rims is not only based on years of experience in lightweight carbon construction, but was also underpinned by FE analyses, rapid prototyping, tests in the wind tunnel as well as in the field by lead users.
